About Prashant Shirsath

If you see, my painting has old statues of Gautam Buddha and old buildings and houses. We all know when, how, who and why created this nature. There is no information about it. Some people call the creator of this nature by different names, but are unable to prove it because they have no proof. This is such a thing of nature that we all will never know when, how, who created it and why it is the most important thing. But we artists do not have any religion, nor any caste nor we would remain confined to a piece of any earth. We are like free birds of this nature, who fly from the free wings of their thoughts and want to bring happiness to the people with their art in every corner of the earth.

Think for yourself how many years ago this nature must have been created. And the artists who came from this nature have tried to make this nature more beautiful with the things found from this nature. For example, there are images and statues of Buddha made by digging a big mountain or a temple made of large rock-cut stone, or a mosque or a Taj Mahal-like building made of high towers or Egyptian pyramids built with big stones. Whether it is a fort or a palace. These artists have made these artefacts with great dedication and hard work and have tried to make the nature more beautiful. I want to keep the artwork of such artists in my paintings. And just as these artists have filled happiness in the lives of people, in the same way, I want to bring the artistry of these artists to the people through their paintings and bring happiness in their lives.
I have been fascinated by old idols of Gautam Buddha since childhood. The artisans making it have carved a lifeless stone in such a way that even today, looking at the old statues of Gautama Buddha, it seems as if Gautama Buddha himself is sitting in front of us and he is giving us a message of love, equality and compassion.

The images and sculptures of Gautam Buddha made in caves are so resolutely and lovingly that if you look at his eyes in the statues of Gautam Buddha himself, you will see a sense of love and compassion in him. Statues like these have always fascinated me. And inspires to do something good. We know nothing about the painters and sculptors who make such sculptures and paintings. Even we do not know their names. Such sculptors and painters have put life into these inanimate stones by their art. In the memory of such artists, I want to keep their artwork in my paintings. And wants to salute his art.
